Niki is old enough for his rabies shot now, so I took him in. I was putting it off because I don't know what he thinks of vets...or shots. But, he apparently was treated very well after his rescue. He was so excited when he smelled the place and he views it as some sort of resort where you make new friends. He didn't even flinch at the shot, he grinned. They gave him a rope toy that he pranced all around the office and then proudly carried all the way home. So, he has his city dog tags now. He's such a cute, friendly, happy little guy. I love my dog.

Glad to hear DD. Niki looks so adorable. Does he get any bigger or is he a small breed? I should video tape Ava doing her little dog bark for you. Its so super cute. LOL you ask her to do a Cat Call and she hississ at you like a snake.
They said he weighs 6 whole pounds now. He's got the crazy eye going in the top pic. Walk?? Walk??
He looks great DD. He amuses you and cheers you up it seems. Smart dog too.
Jarhead
Thanks. He IS smart, but, stubborn as a mule.

Oh look, he's going to take himself for a walk!

He is adorable! I love the expression in that first picture. Glad to hear it's working out with him, it sounds wonderful for the both of you. Few things in life are better than a sweet doggie who loves you.
He's toooooo cute ! Casey is a sweet girl
to bring him to you. What a lil gem :) Kiki

DD, he is adorable! Don't you wonder how you managed without him now that he's a part of the family, and legal of course!
Solomon. my new rescue pup, has been out back "helping" me lay dirt, peatmoss, fertilizer and perlite for my veggie garden, he tipped over a whole wheelbarrow full of peat moss. He wants to be right in the middle of things. He is just like your Niki, rambunctious (Sp?) but so sweet, doesn't listen to a thing you say, and won't let me out of his site. I'm getting ready to go 'all Cesar' on him.
LMAO @ all ceaser. Niki is pretty easy going..except when Lis is here.
He is just precious! I love the bright blue collar & leash, very handsome :)
You should get him one of the fancy laquered (blue of course) tags, can't remember the site where I got Angus & Macbeths, something like pet-tags.com or google laquered pet tags, they're very pretty.
Oops, meant enamel not laquered (if there's a diff)

Just seeing pictures of this little happy furry guy makes me smile from ear to ear. I can totally see why he makes you happy, DD.

Crotch-sniffer.
The first pic says---I love my person and I've taken control of my life now. Thank you very much!!!
He is so cute and so lucky!
Love the pic of him with the leash in his mouth, too cute!
Awww....oddly enough, after reading that post, I was sooo very happy for you. There is nothing like the bond you have with a dog. They love you no matter what...whatever flaws you have...accepted! Oddities? Accepted! Don't like to talk until after coffee? No problem! They are perfect creatures. I'll email you a pic of my Kayla...she is the love of my life (please don't tell the cat I said that!)
The crazy eye pic is the one that made me smile! With the leash in his mouth--so adorable. He looks like he has a big personality in that small package that he is.
Escrow I just read your comment--funny!
Crabbie-he's too short to be a crotch sniffer
Crabbie accomodates by getting on his knees. Sorry Crabbie--I had to say it!
Pat, he is adorable. Some days after a crappy time at work, our dog is the best medicine. Greets me etc and I don't have say
reasons why I'm upset. Dogs instincts are so sharp. I believe Niki is great medicine for you as well. And I am with Escrow,
love the dog walking himself comment. So glad He is there with you.
It was a little crazy to take him now, but, Casey says she'll take him if I croak.
That last comment totally knocked the wind out of me, DD. I am concerned for you and hope that your health continues to improve. Your latest posts sounded more like what your blog used to sound like prior to the destruction of your garden. I was feeling relieved but am now worried. Please take care. I am really glad that you decided to keep Niki.
Christina, thanks.

Oh no! They 'get' ya when you're sitting on the pot! As I said, Solomon follows me EVERYWHERE! I wonder if he's afraid I'm going to leave him????
DD, does Niki do that? Last nite on way back from his last pee pee walk, I was holding the leash loosely, as he meanders, when all of a sudden, just as we're approaching the house, he darts off barking after something he heard/saw/smelled in the woods. It's either a raccoon, or the feral kitty I feed.
Love the pictures of Niki! I am so glad you have Niki in your life. He seems like a character.
Please give him an extra treat from me!
Beth
LMAO @ Linda ... don't think I've ever had that problem before - fortunately enough!
I love him too. What a baby. I am going to send you pics of our Scotties. We got a new baby boy pup!
rox
Thank you Pat!
LOL
Both dogs have had their rabies shots but I forgot to mail in their paperwork to get their tags.
I will do that now.
Nikki is a very very sweet dog. I am glad that you have him. Makes me want to find him a manly bow for his hair and send it off to you.
