Hank is toast. Also, I think Walt needs to keep an eye on that new assistant of his. That guy has the potential to render him dispensable, which could be bad news for his efforts to remain above-ground and in one piece.
Just weird stuff with me. Went to dinner last night so that my MIL could celebrate Andy's birthday with him. She is leaving to go on a cruise tomorrow. She offered to help my husband with the cost if he would like to go along. Her sister and husband and several other relatives from that side of the family are all going. She told my husband she couldn't afford to help with a ticket for me. I told him he was nuts for even asking me about it. The two of them are the reason for our difficult financial situation right now. There is no way that I am rewarding either of them for their behavior. Interesting thing is, we went out to Olive Garden, and they seated us at a large round table, and they removed all the chairs except five of them. There were only four of us at the table, and the empty chair was between my husband and MIL. As I was praying before dinner, I could swear I saw my FIL (maybe wearing a white button down with the collar open, shirt) sitting in that empty chair. He looked very relaxed and even smiled at me, and I quietly acknowledged him. After awhile, I mentioned it to my husband. He totally didn't get it, and so I am pretty sure that he didn't see anything there. But I felt and saw him pretty strongly. The viewing for our neighbor is today, and I am very torn. I would not have thought there was much to view as the heat in the room was enough to melt all his wife's shoes to the floor. It is Andy's birthday, and I really don't want to do something like this on his day, and the funeral is on Saturday afternoon at two, and we are supposed to have a dinner/party for Andy at our place at five. I feel like I need to be there for this family, but I don't know how we are going to do it all. If I can get through the next two months, I will be doing well.
Work today. We are starting to major pick up business. Its going to be very hard for the coming months being pg and all. Right now I have a major headache and horrible pain in my mouth. I just have to grin and bare it till aug. When I can have mouth surgery once again.
I hope everyone is doing well. Take care.
ps. DD I hope your head is feeling much better take care
Good Luck Meissa. Happy Birthday Andy. DD and AM, I hope you are both feeling better soon.
Even though I haven't commented, I am around just busy and buried by life. I am happy to report my son, my husband and myself are currently all healthy. It seems like lately it's been a seemingly endless string of illnesses. Thankfully since my son got his tubes, all he has gotten is a fever or two which I suspect were more the result of teething than anything else. Maybe things are turning around with the warmer weather even though it has been chilly here lately. Also, we went to the doctor today for my son's 18 month check up and nothing was of note. The only thing mentioned was that my son still has not started walking yet. Just like his dad, I know that he will do it when he is ready. He has a large vocabulary for his age though, so I suspect communicating is more important to him than walking. Why walk when you can crawl really fast and people carry you everywhere?!
Christina, I was interested that you saw your FIL. Was any reason for the fifth chair ever given? Hopefully it brought you some comfort and good luck with the next two months.
I was fascinated to learn that meteorologist can actually predict tornado supper cells 24 hours in advance. I feel somewhat comforted by this when tornado's can be a mile or better wide and stay on the ground for HUNDREDS of miles. Saving lives and picture albums, still going to wreck havoc on structures and trees.
I have the week end off and I am going boating. We are participating in a poker run fundraising event. I love spending time on the water looking at the scenery. The cocktails and conversation are not bad either.
Crabbie what are you talking about? i feel i am missing somethig.
First off, my youngest broke the frames on her glasses. She took them off at night and they were still in the bed. The way they looked, she must have rolled on top of them. They are not covered under the warranty (they are only 6 months old) and I cannot buy another pair with our insurance until October. Price to replace the frames: $250! Opto. was not in office at the time. He will try to fix but most likely cannot. They said he will probably give me a bit of a discount cause we have been with him for years. I think my face said it all. FUCK!
Second.. I have a friend that I have known for 16 years. We were never super close but lately we have been. Enter stage right...her sister in law. She is a whack job and I am not saying this cause she is pushing her big ass in our friendship. Bitch needs to step off! She (whack job) knows I am having a rough time with money lately. So what does she plan..Zumba classes. $10 a class. Once a week on the very day that we all three have ladies night. I look forward to our friday night and NOW she has found a way to push me out. Some may think that $10 is nothing but i have a budget. Tight budget. I have to save money for shit that comes up. $40 a month I cannot do. I cannot afford to do that every week. I think I am pissy because my friend is being oblivious to all this..and I do not want to sound like the bitch friend. So I keep my mouth closed. So tonite, those two are going to try it out and then on Friday they will go again. If I can participate in ladies night..fine. If I cannot, see you when we see you. BITCH!
So I am in a pissed off mood. I would love to dive into some chocolate but I will be good. I have been walking 2 miles again (had to stop when I got sick with virus).
I think the best revenge for that crazy bitch is to do the 2 mile walk and do the gym and lose all this weight I gained from the back surgery and quitting smoking (been 5 months for both). That will go right up her Zumba ass! Bitch
Oh Heidi just do it never mind the zumba class walk instead. It's better for you in the fresh air under the sunshine. Do it for you revenge isn't worth it. You are worth it all. Your daughters eyeglasses well she needs them to see so have her be more careful. No it's not easy but life is just like that or we wouldn't be alive. There are always going to be days like this though it's how you deal with it that means alot. Hang in there Heidi :)
Kiki :)
meissa best wishes in your jobhunt. Kiki :)
chritina happy bday to your son Andy. I miss my fil too he was a great man! Died too soon from heart disease. Sigh...Kiki :\
dd&avas mommy hope u both feel better. Kiki :)
I have a box of chocolate covered macadamia nuts from my gf in Hawaii. I will have for u Heidi with a cup of tea. Gonna go put the kettle on now.
Yeah, tea and chocolate will do the trick.Thank you!
Daughter loves those frames so she is bummed and she is sorry about the expense. Just mad at the cost.
I have been walking for me but part of me wants to just...grrr. I am just tired of the back door secrets this bitch does. My friend (her sil) has no clue she is not letting me know. She found out a couple times and told her to knock it off. BITCH! ROFL Feels good. Love to do it to her face but I am a grown up.
My mom has constant pain all thru her body that will not go away. The doctors do xrays and all kinds of tests and tell her they don't see anything wrong....well hello! If you can't find anything and the pain is debilitating....don't you think you should send her somewhere else? They give her nothing for pain, and her next doc appt is not until the end of May. A month is forever with chronic pain!!! I called the doc myself Monday...today, still no call back, so I call again. I'm about to get shitty I think. Personally I think it's fybromyalgia....but wtf do I know. What I DO know, is they could be trying her on some type of pain relief medicine instead of not doing a damn thing. It's horrible to see her feeling so much pain...she can hardly get out of the car. It's so frustrating...and I feel helpless.
Thanks, everyone for the well-wishes for Andy! I will definitely pass them along. Heidi, I am so sorry about your daughter's glasses. They are SO expensive!! We just got Andy a new pair a couple of weeks ago. He has been wearing contacts for about three years, and has had the same pair of backup glasses for about five. His prescription hadn't changed, so we just left them as his backup. They got to the point of being so dated, and a little small on him, that I meant to get him some new ones, but due to family issues, we had not done so. He would wear them at home, occasionally, but was too embarrassed to wear them anywhere else. When we finally got them they cost over $500. By the time you spend on frames, and lenses, and special scratch coatings, etc. that is what it added up to. Luckily we have had a flex account for the last few years, and I just paid for it with that. We do have insurance, but it will only allow glasses or contacts in any one year, not both. They showed us some very flexible frames, that can bend to almost any position and snap right back into shape. Maybe that's what you need for your daughter. I am so sorry that you are hit with that expense right now. Our budget is so tight it is almost unworkable. At least this is the end of Andy's high school tuition payments. We are tight enough that my husband talked them into allowing us to extend our payments out into August, I think. Otherwise we simply could not do it. Our checking is hovering at -$1 and change this morning. I get paid on Friday morning---we will work it out somehow, but I'm not sure how yet.
Thanks for commenting on our dinner guest, Pat. You are a good source of information, and I am comforted that you feel that I did see him. There never was any explanation for the extra chair.
@Daphne-I thought doctors being the big pill pushers they are would be quick to dope her up on pain meds. Perhaps there are other forms of healing for her chronic pain i.e herbs etc.
Can anyone tell me if the US helped out Chile and China after their recent 7.0 earthquakes? I'm getting sick of STILL hearing about Haiti and how much money they still want. Not to sound cold-hearted, but enough is enough with Haiti. Why aren't those other countries important enough for celebrity help, telethons, news coverage and billions of dollars from the US? I don't get it.
Heidi.. If you want to save some money keep the lenses and just order the same frames again. Or even just the arms of the frames if those are the only things that are twisted. They can search on line all over the country for the same frames in just a minutes.
Heidi, you need to apply for assiatnce for the kids glasses & health needs in your state. Glasses are cov'd. My kids had to do this when they were little. Believe me, it helps. Try to call some childrens agencies and ask if any optometrists offer assitance to kids that need it. I once got my kids teeth cleaned & checked and any cavities filled just for calling and inquiring if they had a "need based" program. Many do w/o advertising it. Zumba is fun, if you can work it out go! There are free Zumba classes around all over the place here. And girls nite out prob costs at least $10. You all should find a free class, seriously. They are out there. Zumba will kick ur ass too! I understand the financial situation. It is so hard. I have been working at my job for 10 yrs. Every other year I would get a raise. Last year they did paycuts for everyone, I am now making exactly $1 an hour more than I was 10 years ago!! And I have waaay more bills now too. I told one of the managers and he's family to the owners and he said thats better than he's doing, he's actually making less than he started out at 7 years ago and he has little kids! This economy sucks. Walking is the best exercise anyways. I recently got a pedometer online for $4 and cannot wait to use it! I think it will be fun to see how much I actually walk each day! Heidi, things will improve. We love you girly. See you over on FB! xo
I tried to get Jax a "brother" to play with. An old high school friend was getting rid of a "pomeranian" because she was moving and couldn't take him. She said he was "trained". HA! He was 2 times the size of my dog and tried to piss everywhere he could, and took 2 shits in the 5 minutes (literally) it takes to drop my daughter at school 1 street over.We got him last night. I had that mofo back at his house by 9am today. F- THAT! When I got to her house, I was overwhelmed with the smell of dog piss. She had 3 dogs and 2 cats in a small row house. Now I found out that she is getting rid of her furniture because the dogs ruined it. Why would a "friend" try to get me to take a dog she knows her lazy ass didn't train? Also, why do people who can't take care of themselves get so many animals? P.S. he was also covered in fleas and his nails were so long he could barely walk up my steps.
Christina, you hang in there! Stand your ground. Sometimes people think money grows in trees and are oblivious (or not!) to others' financial hardship. That's what happens with friends and family of immigrants....they think that because their relative/friend moved to another country means instant cash/financial growth. It's so not true. These relatives are so oblivious to the real struggle people go through to settle in a new place. So everytime the immigrant relative comes back to visit their homeland, these people are expecting or asking for gifts and stuff from "over there". Like we're millionaires.
I had a great weekend, away from everything. Went to the Breitenbush Hot Springs Retreat down in Oregon, way into the Cascades...oh man!!!! It was women only weekend, and I went to a bellydance related event. The price of the cabin rental included three (HUGE) vegetarian meals a day. Gowd what a paradise, the food was killer, the contact with nature was awesome. And the hot springs. Did I mention the hot springs? Totally disconnected from civilization, no tv, no internet, no cell phone range....it was weird cause I'm used to having my crackberry with me at all times. The retreat is self contained, their electricity is geothermic, the water is delicious well water.....mmmm the food...I could live on THAT vegetarian menu forever! YUM!
But I had a feeling. I thought I was being paranoid, because of the isolation...but my gut was right. Coming back I got an urgent message from my mom....turns out my uncle's sister in law, who was a friend of mine and a very good friend of my brother, passed away at 31 due to complications from lupus...FUCK LUPUS! Sadly, after she was diagnosed a few years back, she didn't have access to healthcare/insurance and couldn't have it controlled. A life that shouldn't have ended. She left behind her husband and a 2 year old boy. It was so sad knowing that she went back to our home country to meet her husband in her final hours (he had been deported a year or so earlier back to South Africa) to hand him custody of their baby boy. She barely made it from the airplane to the hospital and her heart stopped. It just hit me a couple of days ago.
Good Luck Meissa!!! I have a feeling I will be in your shoes at the end of this school year! There's a big RIF (reduction in force) going on in my area. Almost 400 teachers in a 3 parish area! And I don't think we can collect unemployment! At least no one has said anything. This is all new to us and no one knows what will happen.
Rox, She has a pair of black framed Scenester/Emoish type frames. The $250 is for the frames only. Then he will just pop in the same lenses. Our income is enough that we can never get any assistance. It is okay. I will just juggle and hold my breath and it will all come out in the wash. She will treat them like gold now.
Our ladies friday night does not really cost any money. We rotate between our houses, have dinner, and bullshit into the wee hours of the morning. It is really fun. I pay $30 a month for a family gym membership (that we use) and hubs and i have 3 walking routes that we use to whip my fat ass into shape (him too). So i understand that zumba might be fun but i am already working on it. Plus!! I have just dance for wii that youngest and i use to dance at home. You sweat a ton when you play that. I do not want to sweat on our lazy ladies night. it will not last anyway.
Daphne...look up fybromyalgia on the internet. You will find a diagram that shows you the tender points for this. There are 17 points. Read the article--have your mom read the article. There is belief that fibromyalgia comes from a certain part of the brain stem and is closely related to three other things---chronic fatigue, migraines, and IBS. If you have one, you are very likely to have another. Does your mom have any of these? Chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia seem to go hand in hand just because if you hurt all the time, you can not rest well--thus you are fatigued. Most family drs. don't know much about fibromyalgia so you have to go to him with information in hand. I take celebrex every day and it helps a little. Lyrica is supposed to help, but it doesn't seem to work for me. I have IBS/diverticulits also--- Cymbalta helps with this. I don't know why, but it does. I am looking for a muscle dr. to go to this summer. (I know this will take a while and I can't take the days off from work.) But I don't know what type to go to. I have a sports medicine dr. and a back dr.---does any one know what specialist would cover the muscles of the entire body? If you do, please let me know!!! It would save me a lot of time searching for the best dr.
Good luck Daphne---and be ready to look for a dr. who will listen to you. All I can say is to go and demand that he listens---and bring your research with you!
Meissa, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. What a sad story she had with the inadequate health care and having to spend her last hours meeting her husband to hand over custody of their two-year-old. It's not right that we have a lack of health care in this country. Some people abuse the system, and others pay the price by receiving inadequate or no care at all. Sucks. I don't know what the solution is, either.
Nothing much to report. Day off. Making shepherd's pie with fresh shepherds for once. ;) Oh yeah...we got 10 centimetres of heavy wet sloppy snow today. mmmboy!
I hope you hear back re: your job search Melissa and it's the one you want. I'd hire ya but the commute would kill you. What you told us about your friend with Lupis was heartbreaking.
I believe "Kiki :) so many lil messages" beautifully summarized my thoughts for everyone else so I'm just going to say: What she said! (especially the chocolate!)
I get chocolate covered macadamias every year from someone with a Hawaiian time share...sigh.
Oh yeah, maybe this had made the rounds in everyone's inbox, but I just got this from my cousin in Australia and it made me smile, hope it does the same for you:
I have fibro..you to a rhuematologist (sp). I use the old tried and true nortyrptiline and gabapentin. I made the mistake once of running out of gaba, and let me say, i will NEVER do that again. Everyone else, I am sorry for your loses..and I send good wishes and thoughts to everyone!
Had a doctors appointment today, I'm in the final stretch (& I certainly look it), I made sure to let the dr know that in delivery I do not want to be offered to touch or pull out the baby on my own, ala Kourtney Kardashian. That's what the dr is for, once baby B is fully removed then I will gladly love/hold/kiss etc, but not while she is still hanging out.
She (dr) said that it's some new fad, but she'll make sure not to bring it up while I'm in labor. We all just laughed.
Bayou ~ my rheumatologist treats Fibro. I was on Celebrex for RA (double dose), but quit taking it last year. Got to the point that it didn't seem like it was doing anything. Had been on it for six years.
Thank you Frimmy :) it really all about your outlook on life a positive wellbeing maintains stability. It's not how the world is it's how you see the world that matters. I've been told all my life I'm a dreamer and I admit to it happily. The only thing that is certain in life is uncertanty. It's a given. Life is what you make it. So many people are all about making a living, focusing on money ( it ain't everything ) what really matters most is that you make a life and you enjoy it. Don't ever wish your days away even the bad days have meaning and purpose in a sense they shape us and teach us how strong we really are and can be when needed. We are all in this together. Kiki :)
My MIL just pulled some of the usual crap. It is my son's birthday, and my husband, son and I were supposed to go out to dinner at a restaurant of our son's choice. In steps MIL, so tearfully painful that in the end, my husband had to call in family crisis for the rest of the day, and go get her some pain patches from her doctor's office, take them to her, wait around for 20 minutes while she decided that they weren't working, and then take her to the ER. That was hours ago, and last I heard, he may need to stay with her through the night because "she may need medicine at night" and because he had told her he would take her to the airport in the morning. (She needs to be there at 6 a.m. for her 8 a.m. flight.) She is too painful to stay alone, but she is going on that damn cruise come Hell or high water. I hate having our lives dominated in this way, and I hate that her fussing means that we can not spend time together as a family. . . not even for a milestone birthday. Rant over.
Thank you so much! Mom has had migraines for as long as I can remember and I'm 36. The doc finally called in lyrica to find that her insurance won't cover it, but the doc did have some samples, so if it helps, I'll have another fight on my hands! Thanks again!!!
Heidi, I would say you have alot invested in your fitness anyway!!! You are doing great! I would love to have the Wii Fitness. I dont even have a Wii, I should look into that! Walking is wonderful and will do it for you. A friend of mine walked 4 miles a day for a year and lost over 40 pounds!! As for the Zumba classes, I agree with you, it will soooo fizzle out!!! Then, back to Ladys Night!! LOL rox

Wish me luck!

Chile and China don't need our money. They're modern countries.
Heidi.. If you want to save some money keep the lenses and just order the same frames again. Or even just the arms of the frames if those are the only things that are twisted. They can search on line all over the country for the same frames in just a minutes.
Hope this helps..
My bitch?
I live in Arizona. Time to move.
'Nuff said.

Thanks for the good wishes guys!
Crabbie...who are Hank and Walt? Are they in a show?
Rox,
She has a pair of black framed Scenester/Emoish type frames.
Lyrica is supposed
to help, but it doesn't seem to work for me.

Thank you Frimmy :) it really all about your
outlook on life a positive wellbeing maintains
stability. It's not how the world is it's how you
see the world that matters. I've been told all
my life I'm a dreamer and I admit to it happily.
The only thing that is certain in life is uncertanty.
It's a given. Life is what you make it. So many
people are all about making a living, focusing
on money ( it ain't everything ) what really matters
most is that you make a life and you enjoy it. Don't
ever wish your days away even the bad days have
meaning and purpose in a sense they shape us
and teach us how strong we really are and can
be when needed. We are all in this together. Kiki :)
FUCK LUPUS!!
very sorry for your loss Meissa
Rant over.
I am sorry, Meissa.
And people who are in cronic constant pain and get no meds need a new doctor today. Seriously.
And I too think Rielle Hunter needs to shut up. Elizabeth has had enough already and so has the world.
Noelle, I'm just guessing, but, there will be booze on the boat, right? Heh.
Bayou Jane,
Thank you so much! Mom has had migraines for as long as I can remember and I'm 36. The doc finally called in lyrica to find that her insurance won't cover it, but the doc did have some samples, so if it helps, I'll have another fight on my hands! Thanks again!!!
Daphne
Heidi,
I would say you have alot invested in your fitness anyway!!! LOL
