This beats Banksy's stencils any day, if you ask me. And someone has a sense of humor, they're using the face of 1960 Barbie as a Hindi Goddess. I love it. It looks like there's an ode to children's stories running through the works. And I recognize the last one..do you?

I can identify what's in Heidi's garden, but I'm not good at art!
Like the saying goes, "I know what I like". I like the last one!
the girl with one pearl earing
Yep. Vermeer. And the ScarJo movie.
I love banksy's art but I agree with you..these are even better. Artistic people really amaze me.
It's a Vermeer the Dutch artist work. There
is a biopic on him titled after the painting.
Scarlett johansen portrays the girl in the film.
It was an excellent film. He was quite a good
portrait artist. Vermeer was gifted.

There are more of those all downtown. Some are really what you would consider tagging. I will send more if you like. This is an artsy city I tell you. One building had pics of naked ladies..like Roman ladies and people got all angry about it. It was not like they were Triple X. Ugh.
That Vermeer is on a side of an abandoned building. If you never went down that small little street, you would never know.
Girl with a pearl earring is the last!
My grandmother died when I was 18 months old and I can remember a copy of it hanging in her living room--before it became a book and movie, I found a copy and framed it because it was one of my only memories of my late grandmother. It hangs over my desk and the soulful eyes always make me feel comfort.

Those are awesome, especially the first two. I agree, screw Banksy, everyone pees their pants over his supposed greatness and I don't get it at all.
I am always amazed by artists and anyone that has taught themselves to play an instrument. I am a terrible musician and singer, but I sing my all when I do karaoke with friends.
That's one thing I always liked about visiting mosques and churches in Spain, was all the tile work and colors.

Wild, I love it. Vermeer has a number of excellent paintings.
I love Vermeer. I also love Bruegel though.
This is beautiful art, and it is a shame that at least some of it is relegated to a small side street.
Jarhead...karaoke? Again, there's one more surprise. What is your favorite song to sing?
Bayou,
Hi, I sing Journey! Steve Perry when I'm drunk. But I'll bust out Sinatra, Waylon Jennings, just about anything!- I used to be a big Blue Oyster Cult fan! ha ha, and Van Halen. I'll sing any Van Halen that David Lee Roth sang. Sammy Hagar was not my favorite singer with the group.
