Thanks Pat!

I have watched him play live several times with his band of zombies. He jumped the shark as of late, but songs like "Little Suzie shallow throat" is what we always remember him for.

That song is so appropriate for me right now. Thanks again!.

I think I must have missed something with Jarhead. Hope it isn't bad news.
DAC was an old favorite. Lately, I can say that about most of the bands I liked--"an OLD favorite".

Thanks for that blast from the past.I saw him at the Palammino Club in North Hollywood in the late '70's around the same time I saw Willie Nelson from front row seats. Back then they would allow camers in and I have shots of Willie so clear (B&W) you can count the hairs on his arms and see the time on his watch, He also was flirting with me from the stage and made sure to look right into the lens. Good times yeah! Would have loved to have had a toke with him. LOL

And jarhead, I didn't realize you were so young. Jeez I have shoes and kids older than you!

My favorite DAC song is "you don't have to call me darlin'....darlin', you never even called me by my name." I always loved that song.

Yep, rest in peace to Rue McClanahan and also Dennis Hopper. I don't need to blog that I guess. The Gary Coleman death has gotten really weird.

Off the subject---my son is back home from offshore. Something strange is going on. The people who were waiting to catch the boat going out were sent home too.
It has become a big "blame the other guy" situation. The News says the real info was not given from the beginning. The gov't. knew what was going on but said BP wouldn't let them release the film and info. What do they mean, "wouldn't let"? There wasz a hell of a lot more oil escaping then they told us. The diamond saw broke in the middle of sawing the pipe off. Now they say that capping it will be even more tricky because of the jagged edge that was left when it was CLIPPED off. That is, whenever they get around to TRYING to cap it. They really are not moving too fast. You would have thought they had the cap ready to go as soon as the pipe was cut. The fine for oil leaks/spills is $1000/barrel. How are they going to figure that out? My advice to anyone with BP stock would be to get rid of it. I don't know how they can possibly come out of this!
As for hurricane season, there were two examples given. If a hurricane comes to La. it will of course drive the oil further on shore. If a hurricane comes into the gulf and heads for Fla., it will pull the oil with it and the oil will hit Fla. Anyway you look at it, the gulf is FUCKED!!!
And don't even mention the animals!
They are turning up all over the place. And it's so sad to look at.
I don't know what will happen, but I do know I would feel a lot better if I saw the "BIG" people (everyone from the head of BP to the Pres. to the head of the Coast Guard and anyone else feeding us a pack of lies) getting their hands dirty and helping to clean these animals.
The news just said at least it will be opening up some jobs for south La.. Not if they don't put them to work it won't. Someone better get a plan soon, they have had 45 days!
My daddy used top have a very blunt way of saying it----Shit, or get of the pot"!!!

This is the last on the oil leak---I promise. If you would like to read an article from a local paper go to dailycomet.com and click on residents unite to save land, water.

This isn't my blog, so I don't feel I can tell you to keep posting, but I have really been interested to read your perspectives on this disaster, Bayou. No-one can tell the story like someone in the thick of it.

"You Never Even Called Me By My Name" is also my favorite DAC song.

Escrow,

I'll be 42 in a week or so.

"You never even call me by my name" is the first song I heard of his. It's like a Texan lullaby.

Bayou,

We need floormats with that smug British Petroleum CEO's face on them. maybe some Marie Laveau's ointment also!.
