Tokyo cat cafes

The big craze in Tokyo now is cat cafes. Yeah, you get your coffee, or double low fat extra skim latte frappe whatever the fuck ever and you sit around with the cafe's cats. People of all ages, from all walks of life seem to enjoy it and find it relaxing. You are not allowed to wake the cats or pick them up. If the cat wants to sit on you, that's okay though. The average cost works out to about $12 bucks an hour.

I'm going to ask the obvious question. Why wouldn't you go to a rescue center and get your own cat? Then you could sit around with your cat and drink coffee in the privacy of your own home and you could even wake the cat up. Though you might want to keep that to yourself.

Pretty much in Tokyo and HK. Many places are apts. Because of the high population. Many of them rent. Renters don't allow pets at all. They do allow some pets in some establishments. Half of the time people rent pets for the day. You can rent a dog or a cat for a couple of hours. Plus kids go to school every day except sun. They really dont have that much free time. Its a shame. A child should always have a pet.

if they serve asian food next door and keep a healthy supply of cats around, that would freak me out! Naw, this is weird. Hide in plain site kind of thing. Hello! I am your lunch...and you dont even know it!! wow! how obvious this is. To me anyway. They do eat domestic animals in asian countries.

Well, I think it's genius. Don't some hotels keep cats for guests? You could get a cat fix and move on with your day.

and then you have the answer why people don't own animals.
