I have a problem these days, I just say what I think. I can't seem to help myself. It just pops out. My friend was telling me her grandaughters are getting ready for prom already and I'm always interested because they're both pretty girls and they always come in to town and show me their dresses. So, one of them looks like J-Woww, but, she's really tiny, so she has to have custom gowns made. Well, this year she's planning a floor length white gown with a sparkle bodice and turquoise cowboy boots. I thought it sounded fun. Her grandma is fit to be tied. She's a well off woman, so she tried to bribe the kid with any designer shoes she wants. But, the kid stands firm. So my friend said, "She could borrow shoes from me, I have all kinds of shoes." And I started laughing and she says, "Oh, no, I have some really nice shoes!" And I blurted out, "No, you don't, you have fucking grandma shoes." And I cracked up. I think she got pissed off for a minute, but, the thought of this kid wearing her grandma's shoes to prom tickled the shit out of me. There isn't enough inheritance in the universe for that to happen. She finally got over it and laughed. And I said, let the kid wear her shit kickers. You're only young once. Jeez. Fucking grandma shoes. Why don'tcha make the kid ride in an Edsel and wear penny loafers? Cripes on a crutch. No one should ask me what I think, because I'll damn sure tell you.

Right on DD. All girls are wearing cute little dresses, prom dresses or any kind of dress with kicks. Convers sneakers, shit kickers, docs, cowboy boots etc. Its not correct to wear them. But hey whatever they like to wear. Plus it makes sense slightly. Your feet always feel like shit after you wear a pair of 5 inch or taller heals. Just to look like a star
You're up early! I agree, let them be a star. They'll have a lifetime to regret it.
A few years ago, we had a few girls wear Converse with their prom dresses. They matched, what's the big deal? :) Every girl is different, one of mine wanted strappy sky high heels, the other wore flats. The dress and hair are the best parts. That and the smiles :)
We need more people like you in the world Pat! Someone to kick people off their high horse and remove the stick out of their ass..at least once in a while.

I work in the medical field, and believe me, the older patients say whatever they want, and they don't care! Makes for some fun times!!
Let the kid wear the cowboy boots! ... she's an individual and isn't a slave to the 'fashion world'.
When The Kid was a senior she wore a cute little strappy short black dress, sparkly gray tights and Docs. Her blonde hair was dyed Raspberry.

i think people, no matter their age, SHOULD, speak the truth....the world would be a better place if people said what they meant....
my friends know if they ask me if they look good in something i'll tell 'em the truth....

I've found that with age I have become freer with my mouth (saying what I think)! I put that in at the end because I know there are some of us here who have dirty minds! Sometimes I regret what I say but most of the time it just feels good!
I don't see that as a problem! And your friend did not either once she got over the initial shock!! LOL!
I know that people/friends don't get half as upset when you just say your true feelings as opposed to when you try to make up something between truth and lies to spare their feelings. If there aren't full of shit, that is. But that's a whole other story.
