Man. I don't watch this all the time, but, I catch it once in awhile. My attitude on polygamy is, to each his or her own. But, man. Their family is falling apart on tv and it's kinna sad to see. I was turned off to this whole show last night as I watched Robyn announce her pregnancy. This will be her first child with Kody.The teenage kids didn't take the news very well. The other wives tried to hide their feelings, but, they couldn't. Kody is nothing but a shaggy haired, self involved master of douchery who already had 3 nice wives who got along. Then he had to drag that goofy Robyn in and 'marry' her too. Then they had to move to Vegas. (Why Vegas? No idea.) They all got seperate houses and broke up the kids. They can't find a church that will take them, so HE started his own in one of the houses. He's the preacher, of course. ~Eye roll~
The wives are unhappy. The kids are unhappy. The teenagers border on...well, it looks serious to me. They have one boy who won't leave his room and plays video games all day. And one daughter who won't attend their 'church' and told Kody, to his face, that she feels all the filming is wrong. Now Robyn is knocked up with baby number 14. And Robyn already had 3, so that's 17 kids. None of them are happy about this. Some of them looked shell shocked, others cried.
Did anyone else watch this mess, or am I talking to myself again? Kody is such a dip wad. He should have been happy with 3 wives and 13 kids, but, no. That cocksucker had to have more. He's caused all this crap and now the family seems to be imploding. It's sick to watch. I don't want to see it anymore. It's not fun anymore.
It's pretty easy to make babies happy and to meet their needs. Not so much with a teen. And he's got a shit pile of them. What an idiot. More, more, more, ehh, Kody? When's wife number five coming along? Seems like he gets bored pretty easy. All his wives could do better. It looks like some of them are finally figuring that out. Kody, I hope you google yourself and find this. You are a small small poor excuse for a man. And this is not a family. This is just some douche bag who has a new wife and 3 old wives, in seperate houses and still screws his ex's once in awhile. And doesn't pay child support.

Nope. I don't watch it. I find the concept offensive, so I just opt out, but see the ads once in awhile. Your take on it is interesting, and I really feel sorry for those kids. No-one needs a childhood like that.

To each his own, as many have said, rings right to me too. My husband's aunt was in a relationship for many years, met another guy (who shared the same name as the first...) and they managed to all live together happily. Husband #1 was much older and became quite sick -- I think that was one of the reason why the aunt did not kick him out of the house. I don't believe it was a menage a trois in the proper sense of the term but they all agreed to share a roof and make a life together. Husband #1 is now deceased and aunt and Hubby #2 are still happily together.
That story makes sense to me -- Sister wives, from what you describe, does not and people are getting hurt for a big ass ego-ed shitface who rules the coop. Not my idea of fun. I feel sorry for the kids based on what you have said.
I think I would watch this if it were on Netflix or Hulu.
The kids are all speaking out (shouting out) and that douche is just laughing. His way or no way. I like that the kids are questioning things. Too bad the adults around them are in lala land!
I watch this mess, as I am in Utah and a little bit interested in how they are portraying us to the rest of the world....This guy is a nut job, and the women seem sad. At least he didnt marry them when they were 12 like most of the polygamists do here......On the preview for next week, one of the dippy wives says " If my children do not grow up and choose this lifestyle, what did I do wrong? " Um....I dont even have words.....

At least they awknowledge that there are other choices. And the kids go to public school. They aren't a cult. Or isolated. They just have a douche bag father.
They did not go to public school in Utah...they went to a fundamentalist run school, so public school is new to them, so they are going to learn alot about the "outside world" now. And when creepy daddy was giving his sermon, it looked like a cult, dont you think?

Never seen it, but grew up around a lot of polygamy. While your attitude of "to each his own" is admirable, unfortunately in polygamy the kids suffer. Infanticide at worst, abuse and neglect at best. It is a horrible excuse for a "religion" and it does more to hurt people, especially the kids, than it does to benefit mankind. I believe all beliefs have a place, as long as they don't hurt children. Polygamy does, and will continue to, as long as these things continue to be tolerated. Although, I have to agree, sometimes I'd like another "wife" around to help with everything. But the negatives are too, well, negative.
I didn't think cult about their church, I just thought, man Kody is stupid. He's no preacher.
I used to like this show, but like you said , it has gotten sad.
It's obvious Cody and the newest wife have all the chemistry. She is young, cute and infatuated with him. I think he bought 4 houses so he didn't have to hide his obvious lust for Robyn from anyone anymore.
He has no idea how to handle the teens, they steamroll right over him. Them going to public school is going to get some of them in trouble and he won't want to have the aggravation of disciplining them.
Two of the three other wives seem to be moving on. They're happy only seeing douche-bag every 4th night. The overweight one is only unhappy because she hasn''t found a job yet. When she does she'll move on, too.
So in the end, it will be him and Robin living happily ever after, The End.
It's so douchey the way he cruises around from wife to wife in that white,expensive 2-seater, sports car and his dried, brittle hair blowing in the wind!
They started out ok in one big house divided into triplex like areas with 2 women working for pay. They all got along. Then Cody screws it all up with wife 4 who is the most insensitive mouse but with a continual cold which is good because she has tissue available for all the sniveling she does. For some reason they turn paranoid over cops and an investigation and go on the lam to Vegas where nobody makes a living and they rent 4 houses. The teens are going to bail. No doubt about it. One may kill himself. Cody and the new wife manage to dump on wife #1 to an extent I thought impossible. Her house is too big, her hair is too short, she can't get pregnant, whatever. They insult her over and over. If she cared enough, she, as the legal wife could cause no end of trouble. She should.
