RIP Sarah Burke

Sarah Burke was an amazing young woman famous for her freestyle skiiing and unique ski tricks. She helped pioneer a grassroots movement devoted to the sport and was instumental in bringing superpipe skiing to the Winter Olympics. One of the top half pipe athletes in the world, Sarah was a gold medalist and four times X games winner. She died yesterday following an earlier accident during a half pipe training session. There are many videos of Sarah on You Tube, they are worth looking up. She took my breath away with her skills. My heart goes out to her family and she will be missed by her many fans.

And she was probably doing something she had done a thousand times. A young person's death is especially sad.

I've never heard of her but any young life lost is a tragedy. :(
