Busy busy
All week I've thought about deep cleaning the house. Today I've decided to just say, sorry, I've been so busy. Then smile. Yesterday I WAS busy. I ran my mom and Lis all over hail. I did errands for them both, bought groceries, carried in mom's groceries, took her to the bank, checked the mailbox three times (you have to check that, she says, they haven't read the water meter because of that pumpkin of yours), spent an hour in the toy aisle at DG before Lis decided to save her allowance, paid property taxes at the court house, went to the police station to pay the water bill after it finally came and I waved it in the old ladys face, went to a meth head's yard sale and took half an hour to escape, checked the community center for canning jars, found some, washed sheets and towels and hung them out, moved my damn free plants out of the lawn mowers way (please, they'd been there for 20 minutes) after complaints from the old lady, moved her lawn furniture, did the school runs, removed food from freezer and put in jars, cleaned the pantry, watered the garden, boxed the stacks of saved newspapers, trimmed the magnolia tree out of the driveway, got dinner for everybody from McD's, including the dog. Oh, and went to the pharmacy twice because the old lady said she didn't get the right meds. Turns out she did. There's more, but, it's all just that boring. I lead a boring life. But, all week all I've done is get Lis off to school and pick her up. She hates it when I cook meals, so we've had easy stuff. So, basically, I haven't been busy, I've hardly done squat. I just hate cleaning and have decided to say I was busy. I've just been too busy, sorry. Do you ever get like that? Do you feel guilty?
BTW..I just loved that ad I found on a celeb site. It's a real ad. Is the ad looking for social workers for alien babies? The X-File social workers?

so work full time AS a social worker while earning a DEGREE as a social worker?? might actually explain a lot of their cluelessness.....
i would say you have been VERY busy!!!!!
I hear you with the "deep clean" of the house. You know it needs to be done but you gotta be in the mood for it. And once you start, you find 50 other things you need to clean as well you hadn't even thought of until you move the sofa, open the cupboard, open the closet...you get the idea. Don't beat yourself up about it.
Ann
LOL Tia.
Ann, I cleared cobwebs. I feel like that was enough. I get sick of it all and people thinking it should be perfect. There's nothing perfect in here anyway. There's NO storage in this entire house.
After all you did yesterday you need to put your feet up today and relax. It is Labor Day weekend... laborers are supposed to relax. Or you could tell everyone that you are celebrating my birthday a couple days early! I was born on Labor Day, but since it's a rotating holiday my day doesn't fall on it this year.
I have to work and then Lis's aunt and her kids are coming over. It'll be a good time. Lis is so excited.
Happy Birthday, CJ, which ever day it falls on. I hope you have a great one.
I need to deep clean my ass.
Thanks!
Freddie Mercury & I share the day but not the year, 9/5.
CJ...so your mom gave birth on "Labor Day". How many jokes have you gotten about that.
Happy Birthday!!!
DD...I think that was a lot to do in one day. You need to rest now.
Jane, yes, it was a true Labor Day for her. All 9.5 pounds of me!
Ouch!!!
Jane, I have two brothers that were bigger. One at 10 lb, 12 oz and one 10 even. There were also two smaller than me at 8.5.
I would think that was a major ouch!
crabbie, you'll just put it off again. Get a hose.
9.5 on 9/5!!!
i look at mess that needs cleaning, look at what i really want to do, and ask myself am i going to regret that i chose to spend the day gardening or sewing instead of cleaning in five years time. i always get the right answer. whatever you chose to do, being busy and active its so much better. you never get bored that way. sometimes i actually really enjoy cleaning! and pat... you sound so happy!
I procrastinate on cleaning. I use the excuse that it makes my sneeze--allergies. The problem with that theory is that if you don't clean it, the dust only gets worse. I'm working on a good answer to that problem.
I hate cleaning any bathroom a man uses. I once took a hose to my husband's man cave bathroom. It didn't work out to well.
LMAO At the hose! LMAO!
Lia, I feel pretty good, I'm glad Lis is here and yeah, I'm happy. We had a nice visit and her aunt brought her mom over too. She missed her mom, so it was all good.
