Bonobo builds a fire and roasts marshmallows

I don't need their stupid music to help me understand that these beings should not be held in captivity any longer. Their environments and existence should be recognized and protected by the United Nations just as any other beings on this planet. THIS is the war we should be fighting. We have known for decades, that these beings can communicate with us..in our own language. In..our..own..language. It bears real thought, understanding and acceptance. Now.

Thanks to D-listed for their love of animals. (Though I have a difficult time calling this particular being an animal.) That gossip blog has brought so many things like this to my attention over the years. This one made me cry instead of smile like I'm supposed to. Should beings who can do THESE things be confined to cages?

All beings, including our mammalian cousins, should be held in the highest regard with respect and honor. Only the homo sapien, the human, WHO HAS THE ABILITY TO REASON, has systemically destroyed this process through greed, defiance and the egotistical drive to conquer and rule. We are a sorry lot. No animal should be caged. No animal should be tortured, maimed or killed simply for existing.

I have no doubt that primates are of high intelligence. My dogs are able to understand much more than most people would ever give them credit for. Animals are so badly underrated as far as intelligence.

This makes me so sad. I agree with you 1,000% that these beautiful creatures should be free.

I totally get this made you cry. It's precious. They could have observed and learned this or been taught. Either way, it's the same way humans learn. They are also good problem solvers, which requires thinking and reasoning skills. I would love to share a campfire with them. I love this video too. You are killing me today with all the precious animals. I'm a sucker for this stuff. Thank you. *sniffs*
