political party has sparked fury as tens of millions vote in the
country's national election, by promising to scrap the
recently-introduced death penalty for rape claiming 'men make mistakes,
why hang them?'
I wanted to cry when I read that. I really did. To me India is now known as the Rape Country. Anyone crazy enough to go there has to know that they may be gang raped to death. This fat stupid bastard wants to scrap the death penalty for rape, which is now the only thing standing between women and a horrible death. I want to be in a room with him and my handy dandy golf club for 15 minutes. Men who think rape is just unwanted sex and doesn't really hurt you should be made to understand the terror of being under the total control of a violent stranger and not knowing if you are going to live or die, while being tortured. I can't think of a worse way to die than that poor young woman who was gang raped to death on that Indian public bus. It was horror beyond belief.
Women can vote in India. Get out there and vote this ignorant bastard out of office, ladies. It's the only way you can insure some level of safety. My heart is with you, but, I wouldn't go to India in a million years. Not even if I was rich and could hire body guards. Not in the Rape Country. They'll get ya. The gang rape sport is just too wide spread there.

I couldn't stop looking at the women's eyes in the photo. A couple have conviction, the rest look scared shitless. All of them so brave. Someone explain to me why the men there are so violent.
I think it's because women are so disrespected, second class citizens. Boys are reveered, like in China, and the penalties for rape had previously been nothing really. In fact, the women are accused of being trouble makers for reporting rape sometimes. So the humiliation of female rape became a sport. It's horrendous and has to change.
BTW, gang rape of white tourist women has increased significantly now because ignorant, uneducated Indian men hate that we think we're equal. They sure aren't like the brilliant Indian doctors we know here. A European woman was just killed by gang rape in India and I believe an Aussie last week. It is a dangerous place.
Ok this scares me. My 27 yr old niece is traveling to India with her boyfriend in May to attend a wedding of a college classmate. She's traveled internationally quite a bit and I know she is is smart and not easily trusting, still when she told me - your post is exactly what came to my mind. I won't be able to relax until she's returned.
Only by women banding together and voting against these pieces of crap might things change.
My SIL use to teach at a Christian primary school that has a heavy asian student body. She told me that the mothers (mostly directly from the old countries) of the boys would show up at lunchtime and feed - literally feed - their boys. Little Kings. The sisters/daughters were largely ignored. Crazy.
it is basically all Ghandis fault. That racist womanhater preached that a rape victim should be killed by her village to restore 'the honor' - among other vile things.
And this arsehole is treated like a saint in western media....
