Design flaw nearly wiped out an NYC skyscraper

It really started when the St Petersburg Church wanted to replace this church, (quote: a crummy old building, the lowest point in Victorian architecture.) It was replaced with...

..with this piece of modern shit. Couldn't you just cry?!? Where was the historical society? OMG, this was architectural rape. Citycorp did it so they could build..this...

The Citycorp Tower. But, the architect and the city structural engineer both made a mistake. A terrible mistake that would have wiped out the skyscraper and possibly have a domino effect reaching all the way to central park! THIS was the most interesting architectural article I've read in ages. The video on there is also good. I swear, WTF is wrong with these people? From the getgo when they destroyed that beautiful Gothic church, this whole block was doomed. I'll bet it still is. You just can't fuck that many things up and make it right.

I'm going outside to trim trees, this 'bout made my head 'splode.

No comments? This was seriously interesting. There must be someone who loves architecture like I do. Or weird averted tragedy stories.

Totally frustrating that this was allowed to happen. How could this happen? It seems like there are so many historical societies around. I just don't get it. That old church should have been labeled as a historic site and been preserved. I just don't get it. Money had to have changed hands big time, and then a shoddy job was done. Citibank sucks.

It's just Karma on them. Greedy bastards. They deserve it all. Who builds a skyscraper on stilts? Dumbasses. Besides how ugly the crap has been since the church! Yuck! Should have asked normal people about it. GD. Even a homeless immigrant knows that much about architecture. Or even me for that matter. Dumbasses. Head 'splode, indeed. Very stupid and ugly. How did they get men to build that or the inspector to sign off! Wow. Payola.
