Total Lunar Eclipse tonight and red Moon

Tonight is going to be pretty special. We have a full Moon, as you can see by my handy dandy Moon icon, but, also there is going to be a total Lunar eclipse! I am stoked about it. Our beautiful Moon will pass through the shadow of the Earth's atmosphere at 1:58 EDT, (check times in your zone) and it will cause that big old Moon to turn bright orange and blood red! And yep, you can look right at it without fear, this is a Lunar eclipse, not a Solar eclipse. ( You'd be surprised how many intelligent people don't realize that.)

Also, if you're a sky watcher, Mars will make it's closest approach to Earth since 2008 tonight. I doubt it will be as dramatic as the total eclipse, but, it will be visible to the naked eye and might look like the Moon. The last time it happened, I remember it looking huge and pretty amazing. In addition, you will be able to see Jupiter as well. Jupiter will be the bright white light in the sky and Mars will be the red one. Man, I hope the sky is clear here, no storms..because this will be a night worth staying up for. Or setting your alarm for. Don't forget your binoculars. You won't need them, but, you'll want them. Oh, and tonight is a very good night for a pregnancy spell. Yes, indeed.

HERE is a total Lunar eclipse that happened in 2010. It's in time lapse. The real one will take just over 70 minutes to complete. It's incredible. Omnipotentis de Luna!!

ps.. I just found out that Space X is launching it's 'Dragon' rocket at 4:58 pm today in Florida. There is a LOT going on in our sky today! If you look for UFOs, this is the time to do it. If Aliens aren't interested in us right now, then they never were.

The moon is turning to blood. The world will end soon. Saw it in the bible, so it must be true :)

The sky here was so pink two nights ago, it was beautiful!!

Damn it. It was last night. Fucking Yahoo news. But, the Mars and Jupiter thing is still on and it's still a blood Moon. I'm going to be out there. I have a preg spell to do and it's a perfect time for it.
