That is insane. As a matter of fact, it is so insane, you can't even see sane from where they are standing. Sheesh! Killing kids? Really? That is sick. And, asking black folks to join their nut bag army against brown people??? They are definitely taking the crazy train. It's like a very bad, sick joke.
The border situation is terrible, but I don't know what the answer is. Like many people, I am descended from immigrants. My mother came directly from Germany, my father's family from Germany several generations back, and my husband and his family directly from Hungary. Some of them had to emigrate to Canada first, and wait until they were allowed to come here, but they did it all legally, jumping through every hoop. My mother lost some expensive jewelry, coming through customs, because theft from immigrants was rife. I have thought many times, that I hope the items that were taken, choked the thieves. All she had in life, was in her little suitcases, and some greedy, light-fingered bastard helped himself to it. I think it happens all the time.
Anyway. I know that nations in Central America, and Mexico, too, have crises on many levels, and I understand many of them want to come here. I don't understand why we have to put them ahead of everyone else. Why we have to provide for them because they show up. And yet, how can we not? Why do we care for them before we care for our elderly or our poor. There are plenty of people who go hungry here, or without medical care, already. How can we spend on droves of refugees? I don't want any harm to come to any of them. I want all the children to be safe, and I feel terrible when I hear of people found dead in the desert. That's a terrible thing to happen, no matter your color or religion.
It feels like we are being set up for civil war. As much unrest as possible is being stirred up. I don't like the way any of this feels, and I have to tell you that it scares me shitless (no pun intended) that patients with ebola are being transported to the United States. No good can come of this. Between scabies, TB, chicken pox, chickungunya, and now ebola being reintroduced, or introduced, here, I feel like they are setting us up for civil war, and population reduction by way of disease.
I really don't know if I want to go to Europe at the end of the month. I may decide to just stay home.

Christina, you don't usually say to much personal stuff, but, I know you are prepped. I am as prepped as I can be at my age and in my health. We would probably survive. I think it's a possibility too. I have for a long time. Hopefully, I won't see it, but, I could.
Yes, importing Ebola is a mistake. I don't care if they're Americans. No. The government is making some very strange decisions about everything you mentioned and more. People HAVE noticed and are watching. It's almost like a cull.

I am worried that if we go to Europe, and something bad happens, they may close the borders, or quarantine us, etc. We could be exposed to anything, and not know it, until we have returned home.
I guess I'll need to make up my mind by some time tomorrow. I don't really want to go, but I don't want George to go without me, and I don't want to leave Andy, and maybe not be able to come back, or have him get sick from some exposure while we are gone, and have no-one to care for him. He has been sick, and we could have lost him, if I hadn't been essentially sitting on him (or that's how I think of it, in my own mind). I'm just not sure I can take that chance, or that I should.
I'm doing what I can to prepare, and arming myself with whatever knowledge and skills I can, as I am sure you are, too. I wish everyone would, as it would be so much less dangerous if everyone had some stores set aside, or skills to fall back on.

I've never been to Europe. I'd have a hard time saying no to that, but, yeah, I hear you and I don't think it's stupid. Life skills are just good to have in general. It's sort of a hobby of mine.I've gone so far as to look up herbal versions of my meds and grow some of them.Who knows?

Ranchers are already finding dead bodies on their land. Some are stripped and stood up against a tree, others are just dead. One guy was almost dead when the birds plucked out his eyes and he bled out and died. He's the guy on the tree. Vigilantes are killing them. They want the. BOrder closed and trying to put the fear of hell into the minds of those that cross illegally. I'm sure it. Ight change a few minds. But this all lays on the presidents desk. He has. BLood on his hands. This is 100% his fault.
Christina, what part of Europe are you going to? I really wouldn't worry so much about getting back home. I would however be worried about leaving your son. Is he getting better? Will he be well enough to leave alone by the end of the month? Is there anyone you can leave him with that you trust? Sounds like you have a lot of anxiety, but I would hate for you to miss the trip.
I agree with what you said about wanting to help those who come legally, but I think there are people already in our country that need help too. But I think we need to look at the global picture also. How many countries are we sending money to---yet still can't take care of our own? There is something wrong there.
And a 2nd thought...Michelle Obama wants everyone to eat more healthy food. The very poor don't have a choice of whether or not to eat healthy. They get the food they can afford which is usually a lot of carbs. And a lot of people don't even get that. Wake up Obama and gov't big wigs----take care of your people.
