Well, brown nose mag finally did a cover that sucked me in. I have read everything I can get on these two. I was fascinated by them, like a lot of people. He could have had anyone, you know he could have. But, he wanted the girl who turned him down. And eventually he got her. And yeah, I DO think she was one of the greatest beauties of our time. I think they chose the right photo for the cover too. It looks like he's whispering something private to her and she's in a great mood.
When that plane went down, I was one of the people who waited, hoping desperately that they would be found alive. I knew they wouldn't be, but, I still hoped. Still, their love story remains, with photos and some vids. Do you remember waiting for the plane to be found?
Photos of them joyous and fighting. They had some hellish fights. Don't most couples? I included a photo of Caroline. Beauty is subjective, but, I thought she was gorgeous.

I remember watching all hours waiting for the plane to be found. A relative had surgery, so I was sitting vigil at the bedside, glued to the TV while my relative slept. Such a sad thing. I felt so bad for the girl's parents, losing two daughters in the crash. Terribly sad. Such potential gone forever.
They were such a beautiful couple, I love any photo of them, or any news. I was thinking I may even buy this People mag edition (the horror)!

I think she was very beautiful in a very unconventional way. The wedding snap of her leaving the church was simply gorgeous. I also watched intently during the search and was so very sad when it was found. It just didn't seem possible that such a thing could happen to such a promising young couple.
I too was glued to the television. Although I think I and probably everyone else, felt in their guts, that this was not going to end well.
She was beautiful. Not candy box snubbed nose pretty, but truly uniquely gorgeous. There was something unobtainable about her and that's what probably captured John.
I usually wait for the kids to have doctors or dentists appointments to catch up on my magazine reading, but I may actually pay for this one.
Spot on! I totally agree -- gorgeous gorgeous couple.
I was waiting in front of the TV that day as well. So sad.
I remember waiting and watching, hoping they were alive somewhere. I also remember how sad and shocked I was when they found the plane with them in it.
I didn't think she was beautiful, although that last picture of her is very pretty.
They were an interesting couple, and it is a real shame they are gone so soon. I wonder if they would still be together if they had lived? He had a streak of recklessness, so if they had survived that one, possibly they would have been gone soon after, anyway. Too bad. I think they would have been interesting American royalty to have around.

I admired her enormously - she could dress herself better than nearly anyone, including her mother-in-law.
Some people think their plane was tinkered with and after reading about the Warren Report, etc, I wouldn't doubt it. Snuffing out the Kennedys, at least the ones directly in that line,
I remember it. He would have already been elected president by now , had he not been assinated. Yes, I said it. Assassinated. I truly believe TPTB, wanted him outta the way. The same ones that wanted his father gone. I remember him walking with his mother in Central Park, she was ill. And he was always walking with her. I remember he and Carolyn's epic street battles. Can you imagine the make-up sex? WOW! Anyways, he was a simple guy and his place was a wreck, he lived with some guys from school. They lived like college guys. And he promised Jackie he'd never fly. He waited till she died to do so. He should have kept his promise! I loved the guy. I admired him for many things. But he was gorgeous. You think she was. But I think he beat her out in the beauty dept. She was lovely, no doubt. And beautiful. But he had "it" and yes, he could have had anyone. He kept going back to Darryl Hannah when her new guy would beat her up. He'd fly all the way to LA to be with her. He was a good guy. I hope Karma caught up with whoever killed these 3 people. Haters come on. I don't care. I still believe it. And always will. He was a dreamboat. And took him, how many times to pass the bar? That was all the gossip back then. LOL. He was like Diana for us American peasants. He was "IT". His sister never had that. Nope.

PS: I will be buying this too, which is very very rare for me and loved the B&W photo treatment. Like he was in his dad's time or something. Great cover. Thank gawd, not a K! jesus. This guy was cover worthy, everyday. How did we get stuck with all those dumb K bitches now? Ugh.

They were perfection.
I remember being grateful for the one small favor that at least Jackie had gone before him, and didn't have to witness this final horror against her family.
Carole Radziwill in her memoir, What Remains, describes those last days from an insider's point of view. It's a different perspective and a good read otherwise as well.
I remember waiting for them to be found and then I saw the aerial view of the Atlantic Ocean. There was no way they would be found alive. So sad. So young. Such a beautiful couple.
Pat, I met her!!!! Here in Los Angeles at a little comedy club here in West Hollywood. She was with a girlfriend (and called him from the payphone during the break - this was before cell phones). She was at the table next to ours and asked for some aspirin, and I have her some ibuprofen, which she was very happy to accept. She was 1,000 times more beautiful in person than she was in pictures.
Cheers, Linda in L.A.
I remember vividly. I waited for news they had been found. I needed it. I lost a niece in a head on collision the same day the Kennedy Jr's disappeared. She died almost instantly. Her mother came across the accident on the highway minutes after it happened. Just by chance. She recognized her daughters car immediately and knew the worst had happened. So I know exactly where I was when the news came the Kennedy's had not survived. I was hanging on to a last hope that another set of families would not suffer the same tragic loss as our families had.
And I believe Carolyn's sister was dating a Kennedy at the time and was his date for the wedding they were flying to. So, they would have both been married to Kennedy's, possibly.
OMG, I loved reading these, thank you. And Linda, you told an amazing true story, wow.
Frim, your comment, touched me so hard. I cannot imagine her mother seeing that car. Well, I can, and, OMG. There is no pain like that. I'm so sorry.
She had been hurrying home to tidy her house because she wanted to show it off for us. We were due to arrive that day for vacation. She was going to take her baby sister with her but we were staying in her room so her sister stayed to get her room ready.
You look back on life and mentally re-watch how events unfold and wonder what if...what if her sister had gone with her...what if she stayed five minutes longer and hitched a ride with her mom...what if the woman who hit her (and also died) had not been in such a hurry to pass the long line of cars leaving the ferry...what if JFK JR had accepted he needed more training in night flights and waited...?
Life meanders is such crazy patterns and you wonder if there's a point sometimes. In any case, she was a lovely girl inside and outside she looked like the quintessential Anne of Green Gables living on an Island where Anne is an icon. Maybe some people are meant to flash this world with brilliance and disappear leaving us wide-eyed and breathless.
Maybe they are. Maybe they give it all they could and it was more than those left could have and that's it. Does that make any sense? I wonder that every single day. My heart aches for you.
So, guess what? The magazine delivery route no longer comes to my town! As of this week! How crazy is that? They have a new delivery, but it won't start for a while. So, I will miss this issue. Of course. I never buy People. But this one I really wanted. Stupid hick town. Not one new magazine in the entire town! I went everywhere. 👎
