It's almost here!

I'm damn excited about Samhain. It's gonna be good this year. My decorations are nothing huge, but, they look good. I put that cute cat on wallpaper size, if you want it. I didn't post for a couple of days, I've been so damn busy. My mom was in the hospital for pneumonia (don't worry, she loved it, she told me so) but, she ran me ragged. Plus Lis and all her activities and I'm still driving all the way to that pain clinic every time I can find someone to keep an eye on mom and the kid. Oh, and I had to take all her house animals in and my cat doesn't know them. They played cute, but, also fought seriously, mostly over food, and it was loud and a pain in my ass, Plus one of them, don't know who, gave my cat fleas. Great. A trip to the vet I have to find money for. Speaking of money, I may be broke, but, the new house is really coming along. I will get pics today. The bathroom is gutted down to the dirt underneath. The laundry room, porch is all cleaned out. PLUS, under all those tons of garbage we found a beautiful hundred year old solid wood door with all the brass fittings and a window that has miraculously not been broken. I was so thrilled.

I hope you are all doing well, let me know.

That looks more like Samhain. Halloween is for the children. We will have our fire, beat our drums and invite in all those who have gone before us. We will have a feast for the dead and do nice spells for good wishes. I love Samhain,

Hope you have a good Samhain! Between your mom and the bathroom floor, you might be able to fit in a fire. Send some nice spells out to everyone---I'm pretty sure we can all use them.

HAPPY SAMHAIN!!!

Happy Halloween, Pat!
Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays. (Thanksgiving is my other favorite.) I love seeing the costumes, the sales on candy (YAY!!!) the decorations, everything about it. It is a tougher season for me this year, but I refuse to give up all of the joy of this holiday. Today I bought something called "mascara for your hair" in teal, hot pink and purple, and a Day of the Dead headband to wear to work. This is the first time in many years, that I actually work that day. This is also the first time in many years that I will be alone, other than at work. I won't get off work until 7:30 pm, so it will be full dark, and I won't be opening the door to anyone at that point. Too scarey when I am alone. So. . .weird, but I will make the best of it. We are having a potluck at work, so that will be fun, anyway.
I have no idea what to bring, so far.
I'm sorry to hear that your mom has been sick. I get why she enjoyed being hospitalized. They probably fawned all over her, and she got lots of attention, as well as being fed, etc. It's weird, but she may have envied you being hospitalized for your ulcer. I'm glad the pain clinic has been a good experience for you so far. I really hope they are able to help you.
I'm sure your life is very busy with Lissa being there on a full-time basis. (Not to mention the other kids), but that's a great kind of energy to have around. I miss my son's younger years and think about what life was like (school, scouts, soccer, etc.). I loved it, and miss it.

Oh my, Christina. Are you the one whose husband went to Hungary or someplace with his mom, and did he now leave?

How very distressing.

Speaking of door, Pat, I lived in Sacramento and ordered a new front door for the house in S. Ca. and had this beautiful mahogany door installed where it hung beautifully for a few years until my husband, bless is soul, got a bee up his bonnet and painted it the same color as the trim of the house. I'm still double pissed. To this day. He may be dead, but I can't forgive this thing.

Nice to see you so upbeat! Here we are good. Michael is doing really well and is currently working hard at end of year class work for the creative writing course he's doing. I'm madly sewing for our trip. We are leaving on 25 November and spending a month in Vietnam and then on to Laos for Christmas and New Year with some friends who have moved there. Many retired Australians are moving to Asia because the cost of living in Australia is too high. Then Thailand and home on 7 January. So getting pretty excited. We don't celebrate Haloween here, younger people are more and more, but it's not a big thing. Great to hear your house is coming along so well. Have a wonderful time!

All holidays can eat the devil's taint cheese and go to hell.

Christina, you have a good Halloween. I don't think you should be afraid to open the door until around 9. It's gonna be fun.

Lia, I've heard Halloween is catching on there, yay! I am so glad Michael is better. We exchanged a few messages, some morbid, some sad, some matter of fact. Time..that is all I can say. I think of you guys often.

Thanks, Susan..it was raining and cold yesterday and still no electric to the new house. So, I have to wait to take pics. It's dark and spooky in there.

Melvin, I hear the devils taint cheese can be quite tasty.
