I'm not much for the sentimental stuff, but, this one got to me. Shelly and Jim Golay of Casper, Wyoming, met at church in 1984. They had a "fairy tale romance" that resulted in two kids and business together. They were always together. Shelly called Jim 'her rock.' Jim was diagnosed with brain cancer on Easter 2012. He refused to act sick or let it get in his way, even when they found out it was fatal. She says 'he was tough as nails' and spent the last of his time here, with her. As they lived.
Eight months after Jim passed on, Shelly was shocked to find THIS delivered to her..
It was signed with love, from Jim. Shelly was touched, but, figured one of her kids sent it to cheer her up. They both denied it. Shelly had them check with the florist and they found out Jim came in one day and paid up..his request? "Just send her flowers for the rest of her life."
Man, now that is a love story and it aint that 50 shades of shit either. You were a good man, Jim Golay.

Sometimes I wish there was a like button for when I'm too lazy to type but like your post. Lol. What a guy. But I wonder if it would be hard to bear bringing the loss to the surface all the time. Not sure how I would cope if I lost my love.
A good, unselfish man is hard to find, but it looks like she found one. He was thinking about her to the end...and maybe beyond.
And I'm wondering, what is the cost of flowers forever?
As of the end of the Krewe of Rex parade, this year's Mardi Gras is over! Laissez les bon temp rouler!!
Awwww!! What a beautiful, touching story!
Well, I done a little bit of math and this is what I've found. If they got married around age 25, and she would live until she is 90; that would be 65 years. Now a nice bunch of flowers like that probably costs around $35. The total price of all those flowers is going to be around $2,275. And that doesn't include tax.
Yes, he loved her a lot. What a lovely reminder of someone after they've gone on.
Those flowers are probably more then $35 from a florist because they include roses. I work in a flower shop and our roses are $60 for a dozen, mixed arrangements start at $40. Florists charge delivery as well, our standard delivery fee is $8. I would imagine they gave him a deal because of how many he was buying but you can't give too much of a discount or you'll end up eating the cost of the flowers that you have to pay to your wholesaler.
We have Marines do that before they go on deployment so their women get flowers every month which I think is very sweet.
