No one in Celoron, NY, likes this statue of their home girl, Lucille Ball. They want it removed or repaired. The artist, Dave Poulin and the mayor think it will cost around $10,000 to fix it.That's bullshit. You just make a new fucking head and solder it on. So, I call ridic money spending. The fucking artist made this shit, HE is responsible. I can make them a new head for $500 bucks. And most of that is labor. The citizens say it looks really scary at night and compare it to a monster. I am not a Lucy fan, but, that thing looks like Aunt Bea if she went on Guilliana Rancic's diet and got AIDS. It stinks. What a fuck fest.

I agree that it stinks and the artist should be shamed into fixing it. But a less costly alternative would be to put the right hair on it and say it's a statue of Bart Simpson. At least that's what I see when I look at it. Bart Simpson in a dress.

It looks like Eleanor Roosevelt on meth.
That statue was NOT made by a Lucy fan. Period. The whole outfit, hair, everything, is wrong. It's ALL wrong. Not to mention those GD teeth. Just trash it. Start over. This sucks hard. Harder even then NetFlix remaking "Full House". How can that NOT suck?
I LOVE Lucy, so much, she's been my email for over a decade. She's my Twitter face too. She's my girl. My upstairs kid's bathroom is still I Love Lucy. I need to change that(kids are gone), move it downstairs so I can see it! But I will never like this statue. I hate it too. Where do I sign the petition?

Well, something for everyone I guess. The only thing I liked Lucy in was The Long Trailer, I think it was, a movie with Desi. Hated the TV shows and always blew right by them. It wasn't her looks that did me in, it was the shrieking voice. Talk about get on my nerves.
So my fav for the day is definitely Bansky.
I can't remember her ever looking like that - grimacing and bug-eyed. When she mugged she always looked cute.
Can't stand "I Love Lucy". It's so stupid and annoying. The only believable character was Fred.
I liked "Here's Lucy"--where Lucy was a single mom in the 60s & early 70s. Her real kids were on it.
The real Lucille Ball was something else, an icon. She deserves better than this and the artist should be sued so the town can recover some seed money to start over.
Here in Mpls. we have a statue of Mary Tyler Moore. It's not perfect but you can definitely tell it's her. So it CAN be done!
