The weather's been screwing me ever since I got the chicken house. It's just a little to cold for these young ones. So, I keep bringing them in and they don't like it. They want to be out! So, I made a makeshift hutch from am old pet carrier with no door. I put white lights all around the vents on the sides. Then I covered it all with a plastic bag, just to keep out breezes and moisture. Then I lined it with 3 layers of old carpet I found in the shed, and I added a heating pad wrapped in the shirt I wore yesterday. They like to smell me. They do!
Gladys Starr came out to help, but, she thinks the wiring should go in clear up there. I think it should go in below and I'm ignoring her. She thinks she knows everything. Maybe she does, she's always spying on people. I came home one day and Gladys was here. She won't leave. She even brought her own furniture. I am not joking.
Yeah, that helps.
Cher checked it out first, her little feet were cold. She raved about it. Sunny heard her and ...
she came running to see what Cher had found that she didn't have. She was more cautious, I just got bored of waiting for the right picture. But, they love it. They're both in it now and it's gently raining. It's not too cold out. I'm going to let them stay out there today. It seems they have sense enough to warm up when they need to. Awww, they're so cute. Nice and warm and cozy.
Gladys didn't get her way, but, she does like watching the birds. I sure wish I knew where she came from, who brought her here? But, she won't say. I should put her on Face Book and try and find out.
P.S. Gladys says the hutch should be higher. I told her, I know that. Have patience. The birds have to be taught things like that. Gawd, she's a busy body.
This is exactly how Gladys came to live here. She was put, on her little chair, right in front of my car. She has a designer bag, I've never opened. Nice shoes, made of wood and felt. Tons of jewelry, manicure, pedicure and curlers in her hair. Oh, and the sunglasses. She is beyond weird and she drives me crazy, but, I am fond of her. Please, won't someone tell me where she came from??

So that last marble finally got away huh?
Did you hear it when it hit the pavement?
I have never seen anyone like Gladys before. I don't know her. Belonged to your mom, maybe.
No, this had nothing to do with mom. I named her Gladys after Samantha Steven's nosey neighbor on Bewitched. Gladys Kravitz. The Starr is just in case she needs a porn name someday. Actually, my mother is afraid of her. She thinks Gladys is weird.
Cool and yet, very odd. I wonder who left that. It's just a very strange thing to do. Someone must have thought you would enjoy her. I love that she has curlers in her hair. Obviously a lot of work went into Gladys. Do you think she was made as a craft item, locally? I started to make baby dolls years ago, but then quit because I really didn't enjoy working with that type of fabric, and it was so difficult to attach the arms and legs nicely. (so they could rotate). I had an armless and legless blorp with eyes, hanging around for a long time before I gave it away.
She is very nicely done, so whomever left her for you wasn't trying to be a jerk.
Your chickies are very cute. Growing like weeds. It's so sweet how they are bonded to you. The warming area looks great. They are getting old enough, and with it being spring, they won't need it for long, but, well done!

I found the culprit, it was my buddy Adrian. She was cleaning out some storage spaces they rent out and found Gladys and thought, why not fuck with Pat's head? She really did too. I would laugh my ass off and then get scared. Over and over. What's that they say about pay backs? Uhh huu.
Yep, the chickies are pretty big now, one is almost a real chicken, but, they still think I'm mom. I cluck and they come running. I let them watch chicken videos on my desk. I'll take a pic of that, it's hilarious.
Lol, cute. Weather here in NC has been not very kind either. It has been raining almost a whole week on and off and we are starting to get flood and tornado warnings. But I know it will all blow over.
Glad to see the chicks are doing well, though. And that tomcat of yours.
LOL "last marble" You really should have guessed Adrion. We wont think about who's abandoned storage it came out of yikes. lol Noelle
