Wierd frozen embryo lawsuit

source
Sofia Vergara and Nick Loeb have broken up, but, he wants to save the two frozen embryos they have stored. She wants them destroyed. But, she signed a paper when she was with him saying she would preserve them at all costs. So, he's taking her to court. Who's right here?

They should give them to the Duggars.

That was my first thought , too, Melvin.

There should never be a question if the couple are no longer together. They should both be agreeing to have the child exist and if they don't agree, the embryos should be destroyed.

These ways of "obtaining" a child strike me as inherently creepy. There's something wrong.

This is a tough one. A lot of people believe that embryos are life. My husband and I had talks about what we would do if we had any leftover. You can keep them frozen indefinitely, they can be "adopted" by women that can't have babies of their own. I personally wanted to donate them for stem cell research. I think that is much better than destroying them. My mother in law, who is a devout Catholic, was shocked and appalled and almost started crying when I told her that. But fortunately (or unfortunately) we didn't have to make that decision because we don't have any embryos left. I can't imagine what would happen in the event we got divorced. That's such an emotional event.

Well I'm a woman, have children and was once an embryo so I side with her. Keeping them makes no sense to me. Nice clause she signed, though. (sarcasm)
But these freaky science things don't have firm lines of right and wrong. The whole cross gender thing and the test tube human thing has me baffled.
I f'd my husband, had kids and have never wanted to be a man, so I leave those opinions to the people who have direct involvement. There must be a lot of angst there though. What does Nick want to do with them??

Sorry, but...If they would look like him? Well, I would have to side with her. But this is her fault. She was dumb enough to sign on. Now she's with Joe Man-Jello, a hunk. That won't last either. But she's too old to have a baby now and probably doesn't want anymore. She has her son. Joe might want a child. She may be able to get pregnant, but making a healthy child to full term, at her age. Isn't easy. Getting pregnant wouldn't be easy either. And she'd never get that figure back. Or at least it would be tough. And that's her livelihood. I don't think she was ever going to get pregnant anyway. She's done. Maybe she and Joe can have a surrogate baby? Maybe they don't want kids? Who cares? But those embryos are both of their properties and will remain in limbo. Neither will be using them. No judge would permit that. He would just be scamming her for child support for 20 years. No way is that happening. It's almost a hostage situation. Disgusting. & he is so unattractive. What did she ever see in him? #dogface

This case is a learning case for the legal students & scholars, and something all ppl should read before signing such a document with someone that's not even a spouse. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid!

Hmm... Since they're still embryos I'm guessing neither of them wants to be parents. again. Win win for attorneys. No L
