1970 Living Barbie Commercial with Maureen McCormick

LOL, remember this one? That's when they started changing Barbie's face too and she had those weird eye lashes. Friggin' Marcia Brady didn't play with Barbie, she was getting high and had her own car about that time. Even though she wasn't old enough to drive legally. The studio ingnored it because Marcia was a star, she had a chocolate brown..I think it was a Mercedes. None of us had ever seen a chocolate brown car. We all wanted to be Marcia.

WHOA!!! That's trippy. I had never seen those Barbie commercials before (well, not that the Brady's were big in Latin America anyway)

Wasn't she 13 in 1970?

I grew up in LA, and although the 70's were fraught with shortages the one thing we had in abundance was street cops- lol.
Regardless of what the studio tolerated, it's hard to fathom Mo driving around metro Los Angeles at that age and getting away with it.

I liked Jan. I had a perfect older sister so I was able to relate to her. I also thought she was prettier than Marcia and I never knew what the big deal about Marcia, Marcia, Marcia was. She was the type of girl I didn't like.

Maureen McCormick was my favorite in The Brady Bunch series. That hair of hers was gorgeous.

I remember the gossip rags had a photo of Maureen arriving to work, driving her chocolate car, she was 14. We all drove at that age here, the law was a lot more tolerant back then, but, we didn't have new chocolate cars. We thought she was pretty cool.

There's a lot of these old commercials on You Tube, there's even the very first Barbie commercial. Looking through the old commercials is a good way to identify dolls I buy at yard sales. I found Bonnie Bride yesterday, sure enough, I found and identified her on You Tube. She throws her bouquet.
