Kiki's photos

Kiki visited the Casa Loma in Toronto the other day and she sent me these. Wow. She says it has a few ghosts. I'll bet it does! Beautiful gardens. Thanks, Kiki.

When I saw the first picture my initial thought was - don't tell me that one of DD's readers lives here! :) OK, so not quite the case. Still beautiful photos.

LOL :-)) I wish Mich. That castle is very
haunted. I've never visited after dark. It is
gorgeous however no one lives in it now.
The city owns it &it's open for public viewing
Its a nice place to spend a sunny day visiting
Thanks DD for posting the pix on your site.

Castles are such fantasty when you really think about it. In the castle times they had no plumbing, no electric, they were dark and dirty. They had no real windows, they were terribly cold. Full of dogs and horses and peasant servants. A hard life for sure.

Hi DD :) not this one. It had electricity and 59 telphones with indoor plumming and marble baths and showers
with hot water. It was one of the first private homes
to do so in it's time. In 1911 when the castle was built
telephones were invented by AG Bell in 1888 & available
to the wealthy. Considered a modern luxury item
they were included in the plans for the castle. Bell
lived in Canada where he invented the phone in
Nova scotia. All the facilities are in working order
to this day. The only thing that was retrofitted for
Casa Loma was the Internet and security alarms.
It is fully furnished with Sir Henry & Lady Mary Pellatts
own personal belongings including all their books too.
If you ever get a chance to visit here don't miss it.
It's a marvel of hand built construction of it's day.

I actually live not too far away from Casa Loma. It really is beautiful and (supposedly) contains a number of ghosts. Come visit!

oh!! i visited there & the falls when i was in like 7th grade back in the 80's. i loved it, especially the stables. if i recall correctly, the walls & floors were all in a stone or something, it was so pretty down there. we couldnt tour the entire thing though cause we were on a school trip & pressed for time. what i saw i loved. been wanting to go back again, this time with my husband & go to the falls too, as a honeymoon since we never had one.

Great pics Kiki! I have been there twice and the castle is awesome and so are the gardens. I have a few pictures from the beautiful fountain in the front. I have only been there in the summer though, what do they do special for Christmas?
