Nancy's pool garden

Nancy's wonderful pool and garden. I love the way you decorated it and you aren't afraid to add whimsy and color. It shows me your personality and looks like a super fun place to hang out. Can you imaging having your morning coffee there? Wow!

That's her dog, Dolly Doodle, standing next to a rock with odd holes in it. Awwww, who's a good puppy! You are, Dolly Doodle!

It's too bad the Midwest really doesn't support in ground pools, huu? Poli and Pan would love that.

I am jealous Nancy. It must be SO wonderful to sit there with the morning coffee or lounge about on a hot day with some iced tea.

Lol at the cute little dog with the very long tongue. :-)

When I lived in Geauga County, OH I had a big Baby Pool in the backyard that Dottie Doodle used as a puppy. Chipmunks (for some reason) would climb in and become trapped -- frantically trying to claw their way up the slick sides -Dottie would gently put them in her mouth and drop them over the side to freedom - most of the time, occaisonally she would "shake them up".

In back of our house was alot of woods that led to a gorgeous large pond that both dogs, Miss Suzi and Dottie Doodle would swim in for atleast an hour each day in the summer. Miss Suzi would lauch off the dock to retreive sticks endlessly. Dottie would do this but it was not her passion as it was Miss Suzi's.

Dottie would circumnavigate the entire pond and get many frogs --big frogs! Most of them she would bring to me and I would throw them back. Ofcourse, a few poor souls got shook up.

One time she went in by the sandy beach area and swam out a bit and went under the water and came up with a very nice sized blue gill! I had never in my life seen a dog go fishing under the water. She was so proud of it that when I told her "Out Out" a command that she had always obeyed, she totally ignored me. She carried it the whole walk home to show my husband!

When we moved to So. Ca I bought this house because of the pool -- which I wanted for the dogs. I couldn't imagine them not being able to swim every day --especially in this heat and we no longer would be in a rural area where they could run in the woods so I figured they deserved the pool. Miss Suzi loved it until the end of her life. Dottie uses it after a long park hike to cool off but she prefers streams and mud puddles in the late winter and early spring out here.
