His wife might also face fines and jail time. They are accused of keeping the fawn at an undisclosed location while it is being nursed back to health.
The Fry's said they won't turn the wildlife animal over the Ohio Division of Wildlife because they are afraid the deer will be euthanized.

The pregnant deer died at the scene, but, Fry delivered the youngster and used CPR to bring it to life. He named the fawn Norman and they refuse to hand the little guy over and let him be put to sleep. Not only does Fry face heavy fines and possible jail, but, he may lose his job over this, since he works for the state.

Note: I checked for an update and it seems the fawn has mysteriously escaped. LMAO!

I relate to this story because a similar thing happened to me once. I found a young fawn trapped in a wire fence on a state park nature trail here. I wasn't strong enough to lift the fence wire which had formed a noose around his back hoof and trapped him, hanging upside down. He was dehydrated and wasn't going to last another day. I went to the conservation office and asked for help and was told to "let nature take it's course" and if I didn't, I could be arrested. I went home and saddled up my horse and went back. I used wire snips to cut him free, doctored his wound and left him in the woods where his mother could find him. When I came out they were waiting for me. Turns out they couldn't jail me because I was on the conservations list of wild life rescue and rehab, but, they fined me for destroying state property (one 6 ft. wire) and also for having a horse on a walking trail. It was over $300 bucks. Nice guys, huu? Natures friends and protectors. I checked the fawn later and found deer tracks leading away, his mom had found him. It was worth the fine I guess, but, it's unfair and inhumane. A barbed wire fence is not part of "nature's way." And neither is putting a baby to sleep because a car hit his mother. Mark Fry is my hero this week.

It really sickens me that the gov wants nature to take its course. When good citizens want to help out some wildlife. Anyone yes could of just said. 'Oh forget about it." But people with compassion for life and have a heart. Cant look past this. They take their own time and effort to help mother nature.
The gov needs to stop being so freaking greed and and start getting on the ball with other things.

Good for him! I hope that there's a vocal community backing Officer Fry.
Get em Miss Tia!
FUCK OHIO DIVISION OF WILDLIFE!!!!!
BAHAHAHAH!!!
I <3 Miss Tia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Doesn't the government have enough to do without bothering someone who just did the right thing? Holy shit.
Miss Tia, I think we're going to start a fan club in your honor.
He's my hero, too. Sickening that there are people who collect a paycheck and benefits to treat wildlife and citizens this way. They ought to be good and ashamed of themselves.
It was good of you to release that fawn, DD. I'm sorry it cost you money, but I'm happy they couldn't really do anything to you.
When are wildlife officials going to get their heads out of their butts? Sounds like those in charge, in both cases were nincompoops and complete wastes of space.
This just goes to show, no good deed goes unpunished! I would still help the poor animal. And I would have taken that ticket first to the local news paper and told them about the "let nature take its course" remark and I would have called the local TV station and then I would have gone to court and told the judge the same thing. Since you probably paid the fine anyway, you should have at least had say in court!!!
...and this is just one of the many reasons why I can not wait until I can retire Up North to get the fuck away from such closed minded people. 10 acres of peace and quite where the deer roam free. Mr. Fry did the right thing. Now the DNR is worried about the PR response this has caused. Idiots. What did they think would happen???
Interesting............love to read.
Thank's for sharing with us
