Bad part about Fall..the farmers are bringing their corn into town to sell. The dryers in the silos contain giant fans which run all day. They are one block away. I have a brain disease and what's known as super hearing now. OMG. It sounds like a siren in my ear all day long. Only me and the neighborhood dogs can hear this shit. I have my ears stuffed with toilet paper. Everyone else is saying, WTF are those dogs barking at? At the noise, gawddamn it!
Is is 5 pm yet???

Where I used to live, the dryers would go on all night long. Maddening.
No night drying, they'd have to hire staff. It's a fire hazard. I'm so glad. I couldn't take it all night too.
These were privately owned dryers and who knows if they are monitored. Knowing this particular farmer, I'd guess not. He also likes to haul shit, half of which ends up on the road, drive his hay wagon after dark with no lights, grind up his dead livestock and spread on the fields along with the manure. You've not lived until you've seen a flock of eagles feeding in a empty corn field.
Sorry to hear DirtyDisher. Maddening hearing high pitch sounds are very bothersome.
Fawn
I youtube searched it. What an awful sound. That would drive me batshit. Maybe you can pick up some of those foam earplugs on old lady check day?
So much for my dreams of farming.
Hyper hearing - or whatever it's called - is a drag. I used to have it and I could never get a decent night sleep. I could even hear myself blinking.
At least they get turned off at night but it's still one more thing to drive a person crazy.
I hear the arteries and veins in my head and neck pumping 24/7. And crickets. You get used to it..until you add more noise.
Aw man that is not good :(
DD, is it mesophonia? My youngest sister can NOT stand to be in the same room as someone who is eating, it literally makes her crazy. It sucks.
Nope. It' advanced cerebo vascular degenerataion combined with a motor neuron problem.
Try silicone earplugs, the ones you use for swimming. They block out a lot of sound since they make a seal.
