Beloved child star turned diplomat, winner of SAG's Lifetime Achievement Award, Shirley Temple Black died at her home yesterday, in Ca. She was 85 years old and surrounded by her family. Shirley had been married to Charles Alden Black for fifty five years, until he passed away just a few months ago.
Who didn't love her? Here are some of her best clips, she started really young and she had real talent.
If you watch her biography, she also had a pretty nice family, who didn't screw her up..too much. Even though she was the biggest box office star of her time. From those crazy exploitive 'diaper movies' where she played a singing baby of the night, if you know what I'm saying..humor was dark then..to her later movies where she actually honed her craft and blew people away with pure talent. Shirley Temple proved herself to be much more than a pretty face. She could keep up with the best of them. Famous dancer Bill 'Bojangles' Robinson said he couldn't believe how fast little Shirley caught on to the complicated routines. Like THIS one..the famous stair tap dance. She made the Great Depression a lot less depressing for America. And when her movie career was over, she didn't climb into a bottle or open a celebrity rehab, she became a well known humanitarian and U.N. Diplomat. But, she always said her greatest achievement was her family and she actually seemed to mean it. Rest in peace, Shirley. You had an amazing life and people loved you...and even better, they respected you.

Loved watching
her movies as a kid. And yes, she grew up to be one classy lady. RIP
Lucy
I remember reading a book by her years ago about her life....her parents DID squander all the money she made as a child though....
Remember the part where she got married and they actually moved into her playhouse? No lie.
yep i remember that!
