THIS is an interesting article on how the full Moon affects our dreams. The Moon's phases not only affect a woman's 'cycle', but, it also affects our hormones, both male and female. The study found that during a full Moon people are having more bizarre, realistic dreams. Do you find that's true? The Moon is waning right now in the US, so we have a ways to go before it hits it's full cycle again. But, I find it's true lately and I am having some odd full Moon dreams. I usually don't dream at all.
My repetitive full Moon dreams are about people I've known really well who have passed on. They are not relatives. It always takes place in a big old store that used to be here, but, burned down decades ago. I'm always on an escalator going to the third floor, which sells specialty items relating to whichever dead person I'm going to see. I run into them and they greet me, but, I panic and say,"I'm not supposed to be here yet". I'm always aware that I have a few more years of raising Alissa, until she can take care of herself alone. That seems to be my only concern in these dreams. Then I run to the down escalator and escape in a total panic. I am always carrying this strange pink designer purse. (Baggage, secrets?)
It's weird and has happened every full Moon for months now. It's kind of bothering me because they seem so real and detailed. Is anyone else having full Moon dreams?

My husband told me yesterday that he's been having the exact same dream for years. I don't know what the dream is. He asked if I had ever had the same dream over and over and I can't say I have. I've had similar dreams. I use to dream of my dad and my son a lot. I haven't had a dream in years. At least not an asleep dream.
So interesting!! I sent you an email Pat. :)
Panonymous, do you think hubby would tell you about it?
I usually have pretty vivid dreams all the time. Some days I can remember most of them but other days only bits and pieces.
Sometimes I wake myself up from actually talking out loud what I was saying in my dream.
I think he will. I'll ask him tonight. I just hope it's a dream and not some weird kinky fantasy. LOL
Theresa, now that you said that it reminded me. About 2 months ago I woke myself up yelling NO! It wasn't a No as in telling a dog not to do something it was like a pleading Noooooooo. I couldn't tell you what was going on in my brain as I had no memory of a dream but I guess something must have been happening.
too bad it is known for a long time that the moon has no influence on a woman's cycle at all.
Panamonyous, I would love to know what his dream is about. So curious.
Solitary, I'll go look for it.
Theresa, Lis does that too. Sometimes she talks to her dad in her dreams. It's pretty freaky because it's like he's asking her things and she's answering.
Bastard, you be wrong. And you know it. The Moon influences lots of things, water and blood are only two. We are mostly water. It would be silly to say the Moon has no affect on our 'tides'. Blessed Be.
Yes. During this last cycle I have had vivid, though not unpleasant dreams. Always about the same thing. I repetitively dream of buying a new home with a large amount of property. Some of the dreams are more about the house and some are of me walking through the fields or through our wooded property. We would love to have a place like this, but have not been looking and are not in a position to be looking. My husband has had similar dreams.
The dreams that you describe are a little frightening to me. I wish you a long and happy life from here on. You deserve it and Lissa needs you.
Christina
I dream quite a bit and vividly. My dreams tend to have beginning, middles, and sometimes ends to a story. Sometimes, in my more fanciful moments, I think that my dreams are just a portal into an alternate life in an alternate dimension. I can't see that different world clearly, so it's all jumbled up. I love dreaming.
We used to have a police scanner at home. (My husband was a radio nut--cb, ham, scanner, etc.) You would not believe the number and types of calls that come in during the full moon. It was so strange.
Christina, I have a 'house' dream too. It's been repetitve for years. It's gotten to the point where I actually think I might own this old house and I have looked for it many times in real life. I just drive (I know the general location from the dream. It's in Missouri.) and search. It's a little loony, but, I know it exists. Your dreams sound like omens of where you're going to be moving someday. You should write them down in detail, so you'll see something that triggers that memory someday. Those dreams really do mean something. Someone is trying to tell you where home is. It's doubly powerful that both of you have these dreams.
Thanks for your wishes. It means a lot. I do believe I am supposed to be 'over there' (wherever that is) but, I've put it off for the reason I wrote. I think it is possible to do that for a child. All she really has is me.
Pom, that's really an interesting take on it all. I believe that's possible sometimes too. I rarely dream, but, once in awhile I'll have a non repetitive dream that seems so fucking real and I think I'm seeing stories of the past or a different plane of existence. Sometimes it's not even a dream, it's an experience. It's hard to explain, but, I get you and I think you're right.
Jane, yeah. I used to work in a mental institution and on full Moons, they (patients) did some weird stuff. The staff was always aware of a full Moon and talked about it coming. They had a saying..never turn your back on a full Moon.
I have science on my side.
The moon has zero influence. Or all women in a region would be 'clocked' the same.
You also believe, that there is 'less' of the moon, when it isn't full, hm?
And tides come every 6 hours... not 28 days. Or Weekly.
I don't notice whether my dreams are different durin full moons but I do feel a little wilder than normal, more daring and looking for adventure.
Btw, Imabastard, you're not very well-read or you'd know about the many studies done about the influence of the moon on people.
We have way more to learn than we already know about how and why things are the way they are. Keep your mind open and you'll begin to deepen your understanding of life.
3 blood moons are coming. It's a huge deal to the Jews. Look it up. Historically, Israel has something major happen at those times.
It would be great if I'm right. Sometimes, I try to get there without being asleep.
On another note, regardless of the studies, whenever the entire student population at my school goes nuts I think "It must be a full moon" and I'm right! It's the weirdest thing. My colleagues and I have conversations about it.
